Colorado Youth Bands Mission Statement:
To provide an inclusive instrumental music program that promotes youth development, fosters peer camaraderie, instills respect for culture, and develops a pursuit of excellence.
Summer Band Overview
Colorado Youth Bands offers Summer Band at Historic Grant Ave, 216 S Grant St. Tuition is $219. There is a multi-student discount – $409 for two, $599 for three, and $749 for four students from the same family.
All students are required to have a shirt in the appropriate color for performances (blue for Friendship Band, red for Summer Winds).
Students may use last year’s shirt if it still fits and is the appropriate color for their current band level. If your student needs a new shirt or has outgrown their current one, shirts are $15 — please let us know at info@coyouthbands.org and we will send a separate invoice.
Rehearsal Schedule & Concert Schedule – Summer of 2026
Below are the rehearsal dates for the Summer Session 2026 at Historic Grant Ave.
There is no rehearsal on May 25 due to the Memorial Day Holiday. There is no rehearsal on June 15 due to camp.
We are happy to work around summer vacation schedules. We hope everyone can participate in our August 9 Summer Finale. Summer Winds students need to tell us their availability for the July 12 Concert at Washington Park.
Summer Friendship Band students should have at least one year of band. Summer Winds students are typically students with 3 or more years.
Summer Friendship Band rehearses from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. 6:00 pm students are in Master Classes, and from 6:30 – 7:30 pm they rehearse with the full ensemble.
Summer Winds rehearses from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. 6:30 – 7:00 pm in Master Classes, and from 7:00 – 8:30 pm they rehearse with the full band.

Concert Dates
Summer Friendship Band – Students will perform in the Summer Finale on August 9.
Summer Winds – Students have two concerts: July 12 & August 9.
The Summer Finale is at Clement Park at 4 pm on Sunday, August 9. It will also include a Family BBQ and Cakewalk as it has in the past.
Colorado Youth Bands also offers a New Orleans Style Brass Band, an auditioned ensemble that performs at City Park Jazz on July 5 and the Summer Finale on August 9. If your student is interested in auditioning for Brass Band, please contact us at info@coyouthbands.org.
