2025 Summer Camp – Canceled –

Colorado Youth Bands Mission Statement: To provide an inclusive instrumental music program that promotes youth development, fosters peer camaraderie, instills respect for culture, and develops a pursuit of excellence.

Unfortunately, due to concurrent school schedules, we have had to cancel our reservation at YMCA of the Rockies.

We are working hard to determine feasibility of scheduling an alternative camp for this year.

Mission
Colorado Youth Bands summer camp strives to help young musicians grow and improve with a daily structure of full ensemble rehearsals, individual section rehearsals, and recreation time when not in rehearsal. The Colorado Youth Bands summer camp strives to create independent learners. We want students to experience the results of their choices, hard work, and commitment to becoming better musicians.

The YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby will be our camp host. The dates are May 31 to June 4, 2025.

Important Note! This is the registration and payment form.

In addition, you should be ready to complete medical information, including doctor, provider, etc. You can pay by credit card or check at the end of the form. If you opt to pay by check, you will receive an invoice that allows paying by check electronically. 

WHO
Summer Camp is open to any student aged 10-18 with at least one year’s experience playing a band instrument. Most participants are year-round Colorado Youth Bands members; however, many non-members participate. Please invite your friends to join us. We have campers from all over, not just Colorado.

Colorado Youth Bands Music Directors and a staff of college-age musicians, such as camp counselors and master class teachers, administer the camp. Camp does not include piano, guitar, or other stringed instruments.

TUITION
Camp Fees explained. All Payments are Non-Refundable. There are no refunds if a student cannot attend, including for medical reasons. A portion of paid camp tuition may or may not roll over to future Colorado Youth Bands tuition; that depends on when the cancellation notice is received.

Summer Camp Tuition – $699

A $50 per child discount applies to families with more than one camper. The discount is automatically applied when you register.

Snow Mountain Ranch

Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp – May 31 – June 4, 2025

By the early 1970s, the Colorado Youth Bands summer camp program was in full swing in Grand Lake, Colorado. The entire summer was booked with groups from all over Colorado who came to enjoy camp in a fabulous mountain setting. We are happy to bring that mountain tradition back to the Colorado Youth Bands summer camp program. Grand Lake will always have a special place in our hearts for those lucky enough. While the Colorado Youth Bands summer camp has always been special, we hope to bring a new tradition of fond memories to our new mountain home at the Snow Mountain Ranch.

Snow Mountain Ranch is located between Winter Park and Granby. Camp check-in is Sunday, and the final concert is on Wednesday afternoon, with both groups performing for parents. For planning purposes, Snow Mountain Ranch is 1 hour and 15 minutes from the intersection of I-70 & C-470. More details will be sent at the appropriate time to attendees.

Camp Tuition includes all meals, lodging in rooms of four students, and all learning materials distributed to students during camp.

A Shuttle Bus is available as an option and is not included in the camp fee. The bus fee is $60 per student. The bus will pick up students at South High School at 12:30 pm.
