Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp at Colorado State University Pueblo.

Mission
Colorado Youth Bands summer camp strives to help young musicians grow and improve with a daily structure of full ensemble rehearsals, individual section rehearsals, and recreation time when not in rehearsal. The Colorado Youth Bands summer camp strives to create independent learners. We want students to experience the results of their choices, hard work, and commitment to becoming better musicians.

Colorado State University Pueblo will be our camp host. The dates are June 14 to June 18, 2026.

Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp – June 14 – June 18, 2026

By the early 1970s, the Colorado Youth Bands summer camp program was in full swing, welcoming students from across the state for a shared summer music experience. While past camps were shaped by their unique settings, the heart of Colorado Youth Bands camp has always been about immersion, community, and musical growth.

We are excited to begin a new chapter of that tradition at Colorado State University Pueblo. Hosting camp on a college campus gives students the opportunity to experience campus life firsthand, from living in the residence halls to rehearsing and performing in dedicated music facilities. This immersive environment allows students to fully focus on music-making while also getting a glimpse of what college-level music study and campus living can look like.

As we move forward at CSU Pueblo, we look forward to building a new set of traditions and memories, rooted in the same spirit that has made Colorado Youth Bands summer camp a meaningful experience for generations of students.

Camp check-in is Sunday, and the final concert is on Thursday afternoon, with both groups performing for parents. For planning purposes, CSU Pueblo is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Historic Grant Ave. More details will be sent at the appropriate time to attendees.

Camp Tuition includes all meals, lodging in rooms of two students with a shared bathroom suite between 4 students, and all learning materials distributed to students during camp.

A Shuttle Bus is available as an option for transportation to camp and is not included in the  fee. The bus fee is $60 per student. The bus will pick up students at South High School at 12:30 pm. Parents are responsible for transportation home after the concert on June 18th.
