Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp at Colorado State University Pueblo
For decades, Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp has brought together middle and high school musicians from across Colorado for an immersive summer music experience. Since the early 1970s, students have gathered each summer to build friendships, grow as musicians, and experience the joy of making music together.
Today, we are excited to continue that tradition at Colorado State University Pueblo. Hosting camp on a college campus allows students to experience campus life firsthand, from living in residence halls to rehearsing and performing in dedicated music facilities. This immersive environment helps students focus on music-making while also getting a glimpse of college-level music study and campus life.
At Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp, students participate in:
- Full ensemble rehearsals
- Sectionals with experienced music educators
- Workshops and enrichment sessions
- Social and recreational activities
- A final concert performance for families
This combination of musical growth, community, and fun has made Colorado Youth Bands Summer Camp a meaningful experience for generations of students.
Camp Schedule
- Check-in: Sunday afternoon
- Camp Activities: Sunday through Thursday
- Final Concert: Thursday afternoon (both groups perform for parents)
For planning purposes, Colorado State University Pueblo is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Historic Grant Avenue. Additional details will be provided to registered families prior to camp.
Camp Tuition Includes
Camp tuition includes:
- All meals during camp
- Lodging in residence halls (two students per room with shared bathroom suite between four students)
- All music and learning materials used during camp
- Instruction, workshops, and activities
Optional Shuttle Bus
A shuttle bus option is available for transportation to camp and is not included in tuition.
- Cost: $60 per student
- Departure Location: South High School
- Departure Time: 12:30 PM
Parents are responsible for transportation home following the final concert.
